i have selected magazines suited to my movies genre and more general magazines.

These are examples of a widely popular american horror film magazine, Fangoria.
The name suggests the genre of horror, because fangs are seen as iconography for vampires and dangerous creatures, thus giving the impression of horror.
The layout on both magazines is much the same, a bar along the left side, the magazine name in the house font across the top and the main image with a headline across the image. the bar on the side seems like it is meant to imitate a film strip indicating that its a film magazine, and like all magazines there are subheadings to show what the magazines involve.
since its a horror magazine, they have chosen to use shocking images, most likely from the aforementioned film.

These images are from Empire magazine, one of the most popular movie magazines available. like Fangoria they both have a house font for the masthead but are different magazines entirely.
Empire still uses the main film as the cover image, but also makes that subject the magazines theme, for example the magazine on the left which depicts the joker, has used the colours Green and Purple because those are the colours the joker wears, the headline font is also in the shape of a ransom note because the joker is a criminal, the whole background is made from the image of the subject, this goes for the star trek cover aswell, the title seems sleek and computeristic whilst the whole backdrop is covered by the image of the two main star trek characters.
Empire magazine is a well known reputable magazine and has some good ideas of which i may use for my magazine, yet it is far too sparse when it comes to genre whereas Fangoria is tailored to a specific genre, i plan to make my magazine suited to a specific genre and will therefore use aspects from Fangoria aswell.
